Gulf Gate murder suspect caught on camera

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office discovered surveillance photos and video of James Brotherton and a man in black clothing at the Beneva Village Bank of America ATM at 11:49 p.m., Nov. 21. Brotherton was shot four minutes later, at Curtiss Avenue and Gulf Gate Drive.

Anyone with information is encouraged by the Sheriff’s Office to call Criminal Investigations at 941-861-4952 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 941-366-TIPS (8477), online at www.sarasotacrimestoppers.com or via text message by texting TIP109 plus a message to CRIMES (274637). Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
