After almost six months, the $1.2 million remodeling project of the Selby Public Library is complete. Library staff and Friends of the Selby Public Library of the completion will host a celebration from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Friday Dec. 2.
The new, state-of-the-art Teen Center will be unveiled at the celebration.
“The new Teen Center will offer a space where teens can be inspired to explore their academic and creative potential,” said Liz Nolan, manager.
The Teen Center was funded in part by a $50,000 grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation. In addition to the Teen Center, customers will have more access to free computer workstations and an automated materials system.
The project was funded by the voter-approved penny surtax.
The library is located at 1331 First St., Sarasota.
