The Sarasota City Commission will review a proposed zoning code amendment tonight at its regular meeting that would allow a property owner having issues with city construction restrictions to resolve those issues in a manner most favorable to the property owner.
The city’s Planning Board has not recommended the zoning code amendment to the commission.
Also at its regular meeting today, which begins at 2:30 p.m. and reconvenes for its evening session at 6 p.m., the commission will:
Consider approving:
• The elimination of community development and economic development Community Redevelopment Agency grants.
Discuss:
• A presentation on park impact fees.
• Angled parking on Ringling Boulevard from U.S. 301 east to School Avenue
• Rezoning the area surrounding Ed Smith Stadium from “industrial light warehousing” to “downtown edge.”
Review:
• A Planning Board decision to deny a sign adjustment request by One Sarasota Tower.
