An advisory board to the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners today recommended the approval of several East County projects, including improvements to Lakewood Ranch Park and an addition to the Rosedale community.

Items recommended for approval include:

• The rezone of 95 acres at the southeast corner of Lockwood Ridge Road and Honore Avenue for the future construction of 213 lots for single-family homes and nearly 29,000 square feet of commercial space.

• A new preliminary site plan for an addition to Rosedale. The developer plans to build 475 single-family homes on 237 acres south of the future 44th Avenue Extension.

• Improvements to Lakewood Ranch Park, including recreation facilities, storm water and parking facilities.

• A preliminary site plan for 68 single-family detached homes at 14641 Upper Manatee River Road, which is located about 1.5 miles west of Rye Road Northeast.

The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners is slated to hear the items at its April 7 meeting.
