UPDATE: Sheriff's Office finds missing boy

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has located a 12-year-old boy less than six hours before he was reported missing.

Gaven Oliver has been found and is currently safe, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. 

Earlier: The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 12-year-old boy.

Gaven Oliver was last seen at 12 a.m. Wednesday, near his home on the 5300 block of Carmen Avenue, which is southeast the intersection of Desoto Road and Lockwood Ridge Road. He may be riding a red bicycle, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Oliver, who has short blonde hair, is 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighs roughly 70 pounds. Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit at 861-4900.
