Fall for Dance announced last week its annual fall lineup of free performances in Central Park — the final performance will be Sarasota Ballet.

The ballet will present the familiar hit they first performed for a Sarasota audience in 2008, again at the Kennedy Center for Ballet Across America III in June 2013 and again at the Sir Frederick Ashton Festival in early 2014 — Sir Frederick Ashton’s 1937 “Les Patineurs.”

The piece is based around a Victorian skating rink party and dancers movements mimic ice skating, jumps and even falling on the ice. And Sarasota Ballet makes it look easy. The piece is a great reflection of the company’s strength through everything from the physicality of the dancers to the skilled character roles they present.

The lineup for the festival, which takes place Sept. 12 and Sept. 13 and Oct. 8 through Oct. 19, also includes companies such as San Francisco Ballet and Mark Morris Dance Group — here’s the full lineup.
