This week, four great nieces and nephews of Mable Ringling are in town from New Mexico to visit The Ringling and Sarasota. Mable Burton Ringling was one of five daughters and never had any children. One of her sisters was Dulcy Burton Schueler.

Fred Schueler, Chris Schueler, Cathy Schueler Sceery and Dulcy Schueler Sellon brought a jacket that was Mable Ringling’s along with them to donate to the museum.

Over the years, the Schuelers have donated many items: a black beaded dress by Francis & Company; silver wig worn by Mable in a portrait; chairs that came from the Ca’d’Zan, a leather hatbox, many purses, and tortoise shell hair combs.

On their visit, they plan to tour The Ringling and see a production at Asolo Repertory Theatre. Dulcy Schueler Sellon is related to one of the leading actors at Asolo Rep, Andrew Sellon. Sellon is in “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” “Philadelphia Here I come!” and “Grapes of Wrath.” In addition to those activities, they plan on visiting the home of Mable Ringling’s sister Dulcy Schueler. Schueler lived in a mansion on St. Armands on Washington St — the house is still standing.
