The 38th Annual Plant and Flower Show took place at Selby Garden Saturday and Sunday Feb, 23 and 24 to show off beautiful plants and give the community an opportunity to purchase some. About 3,000 people attended the show with about 40 vendors and 100 volunteers. 'Its an opportunity for members and guests to buy plants and have them all in one spot,' said volunteer coordinator Phyllis Kirtley.

Nov. 10 Shopping switch 12:51 p.m. - 600 block of Buttonwood Drive. Lost Property. A woman reported that while in a grocery store she misplaced her tan purse, which included a white alligator-skin wallet. Store employees reviewed store tapes and discovered the woman mistakenly put some dairy items in the wrong shopping cart. Her original cart and purse were located.

PHOTO GALLERY: Sarasota Yacht Club Lighting of the Fleet

The Sarasota Yacht Club had their annual lighting of the fleet Friday, Dec. 7 to bring members together and to brighten spirits. All 108 boats in the arena were decorated with festive Christmas lights. Over 400 people marveled at the beautiful boats and the colorful lights that danced in the water. 'I love seeing the camaraderie, the boats, and all the members working and getting together to make this happened,' said Sarasota Yacht Club Sales and Marketing Director Dana Soldati.
