Sarasota Yacht Club took bets on horses on May 5, but part of the proceeds went to the Sarasota Yacht Club's Charitable Foundation and will benefit area children. But the Derby wasn't the only competition; the women had a vote for the best hat. It was such a party that, Colonel Sanders decided to skip out on the derby to spend some time at SYC.

Red was the color of the day at Ferraris on St. Armands on Saturday, Nov. 5. But it could have been green for the total cost of the 50 or so Ferraris accumulated on the circle to be viewed by the public and other owners. Only one car would be deemed 'The best in show.' Many car gazers hoped they could join the Ferrari Owners Club members on the circle someday.
