Save Our Seabirds and The Old Salty Dog restaurant collaborated for a fundraising fish fry Saturday, Oct. 20. Funds from the event will benefit the Wild Bird Learning Center and the ongoing maintenance needs of the center. All five scholarship recipients have been with the Boys and Girls Club since childhood.

Sarasota County hosed its 18th annual Big Truck Day Saturday, April 19, at Twin Lakes Park. The free event invited families to climb aboard vehicles of all sizes and shapes; including fire trucks, monster trucks and city busses. Easter eggs were hidden on the grounds and in the vehicles for children to find while the Easter bunny handed out sweets.

The Sarasota Military Academy boys and girls soccer teams played host to The Out-of-Door Academy Nov. 14. The ODA boys team defeated SMA 2-1. Tait Lystad and Trevor Gorji each scored a goal for ODA. The ODA girls team won 3-0. Caitlyn Camire, Katie Lang and Kimmy Comito all scored goals for ODA.
