Key Club helps kids get smart start

Longboat Key Club and Resort Human Resources department is helping to get the new school year off to a smart start. Through an employee drive, dozens of new back-to-school items were donated and will be given to the children of employees who signed up to receive a 'Back to School' goody bag.

Haile Middle School student Carly Mitchell broke her ankle in May playing soccer. But just two weeks after rejoining practices, Mitchell, 13, and her teammates made it to the quarterfinals in the Challenge Sports 3v3 Nationals July 30 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.
