Father Dave Cottingham played traditional bagpipe songs, and guests were treated to a visit from members of the Drake School of Irish Dance, who showed off their fancy footwork.

This is the second picnic since Kimsey brought the popular concert back last fall. Attendees enjoyed food and music by the Skeeterland Bluegrass Band, Sycamore Shade, Siesta Key Boys and the Tonga Street Bluegrass Band.

Eighty kids hit the diamond for Sarasota High's annual summer baseball camp, which began June 7 and runs through July 10. During the 20-session camp, players, who were divided into groups based on age, focused on baseball fundamentals, including hitting, fielding, pitching and more. Players also spent a hour each day working on strength training.
