Eighty-four boys and girls teams ranging in age from U9 through U14 participated in the tournament with Braden River's U11 boys Black, U11 boys Orange, U12 boys, and U12 girls teams all winning tournament championships.

Haley Preininger recorded 21 assists and 11 digs and Audra Pack had seven perfect passes and five aces.

The Braden River and Lakewood Ranch Little League All-Stars hit the field for their District 26 tournament June 23 through July 2. Lakewood Ranch defeated Braden River 14-4 to win the 10/11 title. The Braden River Intermediate All-Stars defeated Manatee West 15-5 to win the championship. Buffalo Creek held off Lakewood Ranch 11-4 to win the Majors division.

Vendors had the chance to please nearly any palate, with foods ranging from continental cuisine to Italian, Irish, Spanish and Cuban flavors. Proceeds from Taste of St. Armands will benefit All Faiths Food Bank.

Hundreds of local residents gathered at the Sarasota Polo Club for an exhibition match between Siaana and the Ocala Polo Association Dec. 15. The match served as the season opener for the 2013-14 season. Sianna defeated Ocala 8-7. James Miller and Josh Shelton each scored four goals apiece to lead the way for Siaana. Oliver Butterworth scored three goals to power Ocala. David Manuel and Murad Ishmael both added a pair of goals.
