Runners ran in the first Pound the Ground 5K Saturday, March 9 at the celery fields to raise money to end child homelessness in King County. About 200 people attended the run that they had been planning for 2 months. The race included obstacles like an 8-foot wall, hurdles, and tires. 'We wanted to start something new and fresh in Sarasota and to utilize the parks we have for events like this,' said Event Organizer Jason Lancaster.
