The Tour of Homes expanded to six houses this year.
If there’s a consensus from visitors to the Junior League’s Tour of Homes 2019, it would be this: It’s interesting to see how other people live.
Gillian Hagerty, chair for the Tour of Homes, said the tour grows every year.
“This is the first year that we’ve had six houses on the tour,” Hagerty said. “There’s something on the tour for everyone.”
The tour is a fundraiser for Junior League, which includes charitable donations the league makes to Hunger Outreach and others.
Hagerty said the tour had around 1,000 visitors to the six homes, which spanned from Sarasota to Siesta Key.
Joan Streit attended the tour and thought the Harry Higel house was interesting.
“I’m always curious to see how other people decorate,” she said. “This house isn’t as open because it’s older, and there’s a lot more wallpaper.”
The owner of the Round House, Charles Perret, said he’s proud of his home and is happy to share.
“This (house) is something to see. We love it so much. It’s something special,” said Perret.
