Community members tasted wine and cheese pairings Thursday, July 18, at Whole Foods to benefit Children's First, a non-profit organization that serves more than 600 of Sarasota County's most vulnerable children and their families. The girls caught the critters in a net, observed them and learned about them. Intern Kelly Munch taught the girls about the bay and fishes that live in the ocean. After the girls visited the aquarium.

A home in Hudson Bayou tops all transactions in this week's real estate. Richard and Kathryn Rosenberg sold their home at 3421 Edmondson Court to Robert Miller and Sandra Faircloth, of Villanova, Pa., for $1,610,000. Built in 1990, it has four bedrooms, four baths, a pool and 3,639 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $1,225,000 in 2001.
