Monopoly to make special Sarasota County edition

The monopoly man is on his way to Sarasota County, and local residents and visitors are invited to help make the special edition of the game truly local.

Monopoly: Sarasota County Edition is tipping its top hat to favorite county locations by seeking nominations of established businesses, nonprofits and landmarks to replace squares from Mediterranean Avenue to Boardwalk. Top Trumps USA is creating the game in 2027 under license from Hasbro.

Instead of the board game's familiar Atlantic City squares, players will find Sarasota County businesses, nonprofits and landmarks, while the game will also feature customized versions of the Monopoly chest, playing cards and money. 

The Sarasota County board will also include a customized Community Chest and Chance playing cards plus Monopoly Money, ensuring each detail of the game pays homage to the Sarasota community.
