Wendy Feinstein is the new president for the American Jewish Committee’s Sarasota-based West Coast of Florida Region, the organization said.

Feinstein, a 76-year-old Longboat Key resident, previously served the AJC region for four years as vice president, during which time she played a leadership role in advancing the organization's advocacy and community engagement.

“I am honored to step into this role and continue advancing AJC’s vital mission,” Feinstein said in a release from the AJC. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation of this region and working alongside its dedicated leaders and partners.”

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Feinstein now divides her time between Longboat Key and Carbondale, Colorado. In addition to her leadership at AJC, she is an active member of the Asolo Repertory Theatre Board and supports numerous nonprofit organizations, including Jewish Family and Children’s Services, The Jewish Federation, The Circus Arts Conservatory, MakeAWish, and Girls Inc.

She and her husband, Jerry Feinstein, have a large and growing family that includes five children, 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, with another on the way.
