The Gulfshore of Longboat Key community was abuzz with activity as thrift shoppers found all manner of goods at the Trash to Treasure sale.

The two-day sale took place Feb. 13-14, with volunteers working hard to keep the tables stocked.

Kim Fenwick, who has co-chaired the annual event since 2020 with Susie Hettmansperger, said funds from the sale would again go toward rebuilding weather-damaged facilities, particularly near the marina.

As the sale drew to a close, she said it was a notable one with its high turnout of shoppers taking advantage of the warm weather.
