To the tune of cover songs performed by the band Silver Thunder, Lakewood Ranch's Daniel Saikaley and Johanne Gordon made their way to the front of the crowd near the stage.Â
As a new song began, they started dancing what they called an "East Coast Swing Triple Step." They are passionate about dancing and used to compete "many moons ago."Â
"We love Music on Main as it gives us a chance to practice our moves and have so much fun," Gordon said. "The atmosphere is so lively and uplifting, and the band was so amazing, energetic and entertaining. We are appreciative of the lovely compliments we receive from the audience (about their dancing)."Â
Chuck Black, who moved to Lakewood Ranch in 2003, plays guitar and sings in Silver Thunder. He said it is a dream come true to have performed at Music on Main. It has been his goal for some time, even before he was part of a band.Â
"Over the years, it just kept growing and getting bigger, better, and louder," Black said of Music on Main. "Look at how many people come to these things now. This is amazing."
Lakewood Ranch's Ashton and Ryan Zimmerman come to Music on Main every month with their two kids, Grace and Teagan.
"We've got balloon animals, face painting and food," Ashton Zimmerman said. "It's just something to get outside and enjoy as a family."
"I love this community," Black said. "We are so lucky to live in this beautiful paradise that we call Lakewood Ranch."
