City Hall and other facilities will be closed July 4

City of Sarasota administrative offices will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste pickup on Friday. Regular Friday pickup will occur on Saturday. For more information about garbage and recycling collection, contact the Solid Waste Division at 941-263-6170.

Parks and Recreation facilities including Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex, Lido Pool, Payne Park Tennis Center and the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, along with the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Box Office, will be closed.

The Bay Runner trolley service between downtown and South Lido Beach will operate regular hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., on July 4. The Bay Runner will turn around at the Lido Beach Pavilion July 5-6 to accommodate anticipated increased holiday traffic.

A fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, July 4, at Bayfront Park.
