The lines were half as long for the food trucks, and it was easy to find parking and a table near the pavilion, where the band Fancy Larry and the Plain Jaynes performed for the crowd.
Tara's Debbie and Jerry Archer have become regulars at Waterside Place. The Archers love Ranch Nite Wednesday and the farmers’ Market on Sundays. The colder temperature wasn't going to stop the archers from going to the first Ranch Nite of the year Jan. 3, they said.
The weather posed another issue for one of the regular vendors, the Sidewalk Science Center. It was too cloudy to see any stars, but the telescopes were still set up for sale.
“Typically, you can see Saturn, Jupiter, the moon and star clusters,” Executive Director Alex Martin said. “A couple hundred people come through here on days where we can see things through the telescope.”
