Allie Thompsen is a senior on the Lakewood Ranch High girls lacrosse team. Thompsen has 10 goals in her first three games of 2024, helping the Mustangs to a 2-1 record.

When did you start playing lacrosse?

I started playing when I was in sixth grade. My sister (Emma Thompsen) played lacrosse so my family thought I should try it as well. I loved it instantly.

What is the appeal to you?

I like to score goals. It feels great. You get a rush. It’s also my senior season this year. I’m not going to be playing lacrosse in college, so this is the final time I am going to get to play. I want to out with a good season.

What is your best skill?

My speed. I’m pretty fast naturally. That is an advantage.

What have you improved the most?

My confidence has improved a lot. I take shots and if I miss, it’s fine. I will have more chances.

What is your favorite memory?

I scored six goals against Bradenton Christian School this year (Feb. 15). That is the most I have scored in a high school game, so that was special. Also, there was a game against Cardinal Mooney High last year where I hurt my leg and was out for a few minutes icing it, then came back and had one of the best games of my career.

What is the key to Lakewood Ranch’s season?

We have all bonded and we can play. I think there are times where we goof off a bit too much and don’t play well. We need to be a bit more hyped up and play as a team. We need to be confident.

What is your favorite food?

I love any type of pasta.

What is your favorite TV show?

"Grey’s Anatomy." There are so many seasons of that show. I can watch them over and over.

What is your favorite subject?

Science. When I took chemistry it was fun to do all the labs.

What are your hobbies?

I like to hang with my friends and go to the beach. I also like to shop.

Which superpower would you pick?

I would want either invisibility or teleportation.

What is the best advice you have received?

Don’t listen to what others have to say. Play for yourself and tell yourself it is OK if you mess up.

Finish this sentence: “Allie Thompsen is …”

Outgoing. I like to see other people laugh and be happy.
