Photo by Petra RiveraThe All Angels By The Sea Episcopal Church Gallery has received more art for its New to You art sale than in any of its four previous years.
The Rev. David Marshall and Office Director Linn Torres headed up the sale as a way to raise money for Turning Points in Bradenton. The gallery has received 339 art pieces, sculptures and knick knacks. Torres said they are still accepting art throughout the entirety of the sale, which ends Feb. 29.
In the first three days, the art sale raised $5,750, the most money the sale has ever made. Marshall and Torres were ecstatic that the sale started off successfully.
Torres and Marshall threw the annual wine and cheese event to kick off the sale on Feb. 8 in the gallery. Guests could enjoy cheese plates and wine while browsing for the next staple art piece for their house. Margi Dawson came as a representative from Turning Points to share with art purchasers what their money will be going toward.
“I love the variety of art,” said All Angels member Beverley Lorie. “Every time you look around, you spot something new. There is something for everyone. I also love donating because it is such a creative way to raise the money for a great cause.”
