A woman was arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on Jan. 21.
The suspect, Maurionna Neveah Heard, 21, was arrested by Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies at her home in the 2000 block of Coconut Boulevard in Bunnell on Jan. 25.
Heard was charged with carjacking with a firearm and aggravated assault while committing a first degree felony, both felony charges, according to the arrest report.
Earlier on Jan. 25, the victim contacted police to report the theft. The victim told deputies that she had known Heard a few months and occasionally let Heard use her blue Kia. Since the theft on Jan. 21, she said she’d been trying to get Heard to return the vehicle peacefully, but she would not, the report said.
The woman told deputies that she and her boyfriend were with Heard in the car between 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., the report said. Heard was driving because the other two were intoxicated.
The woman told Heard to take them home instead of to a party and Heard “became upset” and began threatening her, the report said.
Heard then took out a gun and forced both the woman and her boyfriend out of the car while it was still moving.
Heard, the report said, is associated with the “Cut Throat Gang” and a known narcotics dealer.
Heard was found later in the day on Jan. 25, arrested and taken to the county jail, though neither the Kia or the gun were found.
Heard has previous drug-related and parole violation-related convictions, according to her arrest record, as well as one written threats felony conviction.
Heard is currently awaiting trial for five drug-related charges, the carjacking and aggravated assault charges, a tampering with evidence charge, a parole violation charge and one out of county warrant.
