River Club's Karin and Phil Pape haven't seen their friend and fellow River Club resident Claudia Divoll since November 2022.

Divoll, a snow bird, was able to reconnect with her friends at the first River Club Jingle Ball on Dec. 5 at The Meadows Country Club.

The Papes met Divoll when the COVID-19 pandemic started and the neighbors on their street decided to take turns enjoying drinks while social distancing on each others' driveways as a way to get to know each other.

Maureen Rosin, the River Club social chair, said the Jingle Ball was the perfect setting for 100 River Club residents to come together, meet each other and reconnect with friends.

The black tie event is the biggest event the community has ever hosted, Rosin said.
