Rachel Paule is a junior on the Riverview High girls soccer team. According to MaxPreps statistics, Paule has three goals and seven points in the Rams' first five games of the 2023-2024 season, helping Riverview to a 3-2 record.

Why did you start playing soccer?

I saw a highlight reel of Alex Morgan plays on TV. I just thought I could do that and that it looked fun. My family bought me soccer balls and shoes and I've played ever since then.

What is the appeal to you?

I like that you get to learn something new every day. You also get to share time with your teammates and accomplish things together and create good moments.

What is your best skill?

I don't know if I have one best thing specifically. I just try to be as best a teammate as I can. If that means I don't score and I pass the ball instead, that's great. I just want to share those moments with my team.

What have you been working to improve?

My overall shooting. It's just a big part of the game.

What is your favorite memory?

My club soccer team (Tampa Bay United) reached nationals in Seattle this year. That was an eye-opening experience, going against some of the top recruits in the country. We didn't make it to the final round, but we did as well as we could.

What is the key to this season for the Rams?

We sometimes have to focus more, especially early in games. We don't start as well as we would like. We need to be more together as a team.

What is your favorite food?

I love any type of pasta.

What is your favorite TV show?

I just started watching "Gossip Girl" with my sister (Lauren Paule) and so far, it's the best show I've watched.

What is your favorite school subject?

Math. It's one of my strongest subjects. I like the challenge it brings.

Which superpower would you pick?

Reading people's minds. I want to know what people are actually thinking.

What are your hobbies?

Honestly, I just like sitting and watching TV. (Laughs.) I think that's valid.

What is the best advice you have received?

Enjoy the moment. There is going to be a day where I don't have the people around me that I do right now. I won't be able to experience these moments again.

Finish this sentence: "Rachel Paule is …"

Energetic. I'm always trying to have fun.
