Here are the real estate sales that made the headlines in 2021.

1. Siesta Properties (Siesta Key)

Docket Gold Properties LLC sold three homes at 7660, 7711, and 7712 Sanderling Road to RDB 7712 LLC for $14 million. The property at 7660 was built in 1957, it has three bedrooms, three baths and 2,016 square feet of living area. The property at 7711 was built in 1952, it has two bedrooms, two baths, a pool and 2,616 square feet of living area. The The property at 7711 was built in 1999, it has three bedrooms, three-and-two-half baths, two pools and 6,480 square feet of living area.

2. Harbor Acres (Sarasota)

Mark and Kim Standish, of Sarasota, sold their home at 1452 Hillview Drive to 1452 Hillview Drive Real Estate Services LLC, trustee, for $13.25 million. Built in 1997, it has five bedrooms, five-and-three-half baths, a pool and 6,728 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $7 million in 2013.

3. Bay Island (Siesta Key)

David and Myrna Band sold their home at 4100 Flamingo Ave. to Benjamin Hanan, trustee, of Sarasota, for $12 million. The first property was built in 1923, it has four bedrooms, six baths, a pool and 6,330 square feet of living area. The second property was built in 1995, it has one bedroom, one bath and 921 square feet of living area.

The top selling property for 2021 is the same property in our top-properties list from 2020. The Sanderling Road property sold in 2020 for $10.5 million.

4. Fiddler Bayou (Siesta Key)

Jeffrey Jones and Susan Jones sold their home at 4300 Higel Ave. to Chanel Holdings (Nevis) LLC for $12 million. Built in 2008, it has six bedrooms, six-and-three-half baths, a pool and 8,623 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $10.25 million in 2014.

5. Palmers (Casey Key)

Raymond and Jeanne Conrad sold two properties at 1588 N. Casey Key Road to 1588 North Casey Key LLC for $9.25 million. The first property was built in 1993, it has four bedrooms, five-and-two-half baths, a pool and 6,321 square feet of living area. The second property was built in 1993, it has two bedrooms, one bath and 1,416 square feet of living area. They previously sold for $9.9 million in 2009.

6. Siesta Key (Siesta Key)

Alok Sharma and Alisa Behne, trustees, of Sarasota, sold the home at 3500 Bayou Louise Lane to Jerald and Kathleen Anne Kamiel, of Alpine, N.J., for $8.05 million. Built in 2002, it has five bedrooms, five baths, a pool and 5,656 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4.25 million in 2003.

7. Harbor Acres (Sarasota)

Douglas Secrest and Carmen D’Ambrosio, of Key Biscayne, sold their home at 1333 Vista Drive to John and Carol Bruno, of Sarasota, for $7.85 million. Built in 2018, it has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,844 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4.8 million in 2019.

8. Casey Key

Eugene Garro, trustee, and Patricia Garro, of Osprey, sold the home at 13 N. Casey Key Road to Ansel and Janet Schwartz, of Osprey, for $7.5 million. Built in 2019, it has four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,701 square feet of living area.

9. Harbor Acres (Sarasota)

Riverdore LLC sold the home at 1400 Harbor Drive to Cross Street Real Estate Services LLC for $7.4 million. Built in 2016, it has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,402 square feet of living area.

10. (tie) Bay Island (Siesta Key)

Betsy Kane-Hartnett, Katherine Kane and Priscilla Kane Hellweg sold three properties at 539 Norsota Way to Cross Street Real Estate Services LLC, trustee, for $7 million. The first property was built in 1952, it has four bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a pool and 8,964 square feet of living area. The second property was built in 1983, it has two bedrooms, one bath and 888 square feet of living area. The third property was built in 1983, it has one bedroom, one bath and 336 square feet of living area. They previously sold for $1,675,000 in 1989.

10. (tie) Casey Key

Baron Silverstein and Nanci Gelb, trustees, of Weston, Massachusetts, sold three properties at 316 N. Casey Key Road to Seven Ospreys LLC for $7 million. The first property was built in 2001, it has two bedrooms, two baths, a pool and 5,597 square feet of living area. The second property was built in 1963, it has two bedrooms, two baths and 1,139 square feet of living area. The third property was built in 2002, it has one bath and 384 square feet of living area. They previously sold for $523,000 in 2006.

Tocobaga Bay (Sarasota)

Craig and Kimberly Johnson, of Waynesboro, Virginia, sold their home at 1001 Tocobaga Lane to Terrence John Arenberg and Lucy Joanne Arenberg, of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, for $6.7 million. Built in 1992, it has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,274 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4,825,000 in 2018.

Southpointe Shores

John and Lori Liguori, of Freedom, New Hampshire, sold their home at 1717 Southpointe Drive to Robert Pappas, of Ft. Myers, for $6.3 million. Built in 2009, it has four bedrooms, five-and-four-half baths, a pool and 6,883 square feet of living area.

Cedar Cove

Kevin and Kimberly Kalkhoven, of Truckee, California, sold their home at 1814 Roland St. to Timothy and Theresa Geiger, of Clarence, New York, for $5,595,000. Built in 1990, it has five bedrooms, four-and-three-half baths, a pool and 8,839 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $5 million in 2015.

The Tower Residences

Michael and Karen Valentino, of Sarasota, sold their Unit 1803 condominium at 35 Watergate Drive to David and Myrna Band, of Sarasota, for $5.3 million. Built in 2003, it has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths and 4,668 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4 million in 2011.

Alan T. Owens

Richard Brown, trustee, and Diane Brown, of Sarasota, sold the home at 929 Alameda Way to Elita Krums Kane, of Sarasota, for $5,275,000. Built in 1998, it has five bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, a pool and 7,108 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4.8 million in 2004.

Aqua

Andrew and Barbara Cervasio, of Sarasota, sold their Unit PH-2 condominium at 280 Golden Gate Point to Thomas Tyler, trustee, of Venice, for $5.2 million. Built in 2016, it has three bedrooms, four baths and 4,101 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4,295,000 in 2016.

Ladue Lane

Jaclyn Brunckhorst, of Nokomis, sold her home at 1400 Ladue Lane to John Rattigan Jr., of Windermere, for $5.2 million. Built in 1983, it has six bedrooms, eight baths, a pool and 9,054 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4.2 million in 2001.

SIESTA KEY

Bay Island 

Billy Pullman Jr., trustee, of Sarasota, sold the home at 835 Norsota Way to David and Lisa Leland, of Sarasota, for $6.6 million. Built in 1991, it has four bedrooms, four-and-two-half baths, a pool and 6,339 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $3.2 million in 2010.

Ocean View

Stephen Barr, trustee, of St. Petersburg, sold the home at 8347 Midnight Pass Road to Robert Pappas, of Ft. Myers, for $6.5 million. Built in 2010, it has four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a pool and 6,512 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $4,075,000 in 2012.

Bay Island Shores

Patrick and Shirley Wulf, of Sarasota, sold their home at 880 Siesta Drive to Jimmy Mooney and Tory Rutledge Mooney, of Sarasota, for $6,275,000. Built in 1997, it has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,436 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $2 million in 2014.

Siesta Key

Greg and Michelle Olson, of Siesta Key, sold their home at 3935 Shell Road to James and Jessica Prukner, of Siesta Key, for $6,275,000. Built in 2006, it has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,532 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $3.5 million in 2017.

Siesta Key

Kevin and Joanne Creel, of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, sold their home at 3970 Roberts Point Road to EFT Florida LLC for $6.2 million. Built in 2015, it has five bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, a pool and 6,028 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $2.3 million in 2016.

PALMER RANCH 

Monte Verde at Villa Mirada

Special Custom Homes LLC sold the home at 7425 Monte Verde to Gregory and Daisy Dicarlo, of Wesley Chapel, for $1,745,000. Built in 2020, it has four bedrooms, four-and-two-half baths, a pool and 4,408 square feet of living area.

Palacio

Sumner Honaker Latino, trustee, and John Latino, of Sarasota, sold the home at 4208 Palacio Drive to Nicholas and Cristina Dickson, of Sarasota, for $1.4 million. Built in 1994, it has three bedrooms, three-and-two-half baths and 3,455 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $420,000 in 2019.

Legacy Estates on Palmer Ranch

Abdul and Tahira Chawdry, of Nokomis, sold their home at 12020 Legacy Estates Blvd. to Daping and Heather Xia, of Sarasota, for $1.38 million. Built in 2017, it has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a pool and 3,639 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $924,900 in 2017.

Silver Oak

Fredrick Arthur Robinson and Linda Hartman Robinson, of Tampa, sold their home at 8986 Wildlife Loop to Benjamin Franklin Chaney Jr., of Boulder, Colorado, for $1,338,900. Built in 2002, it has four bedrooms, four baths, a pool and 3,209 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $595,000 in 2018.

Beneva Oaks

XiaoFei Liu, of San Ramon, Calif., sold his home at 3774 Beneva Oaks Blvd. to Peter George Lunt and Susan Beth Lunt, of Sarasota, for $1.3 million. Built in 2004, it has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, a pool and 4,519 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $1,203,000 in 2013.

Casey Key

Melissa Durbin Welch sold her home at 814 N. Casey Key Road to Darrel Flanel, trustee, of Osprey, for $6.25 million. Built in 2011, it has four bedrooms, four-and-two-half baths, two pools and 6,552 square feet of living area.

Shumard Estates

Jeffrey and Nicole Labelle sold their home at 1112 N. Casey Key Road to Ryan Featherstone, trustee, of Sarasota, for $4.4 million. Built in 1982, it has three bedrooms, three baths, a pool and 3,356 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $2.15 million in 2002.
