Bev Pillot, a resident at Cypress Springs Gracious Retirement Living, stood outside a window and blew a kiss to Rosie Breitwieser, who was lying in her bed at Hawthorne Village Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Breitwieser, a resident of Cypress Springs for the past four years, had fallen and broken her ribs. She moved to Hawthorne Village to recover.
“It’s very emotional,” Pillot said. “This is my fifth Christmas at Cypress Springs, and Rosie has been there a long time. We miss her a lot.”
Dressed in holiday sweaters and elf hats, 12 Cypress Springs residents stood outside Breitwieser’s window and surprised her by singing classic Christmas songs Dec. 17.
