Despite some of them not having power and still living out of suitcases, the Luffing Lassies sailing group banded together to clean up the Sarasota Sailing Squadron.
The Luffing Lassies, who operate out of the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, were supposed to have their first regatta on Sept. 14, but instead they shifted efforts to clean up their home turf.
As the sun beat down, the lassies swapped Hurricane Irma stories, dragged tree branches into piles and moved boats.
“There’s no wind, so we wouldn’t be sailing anyway,” Penny Durham said.
