When you can’t be in Dublin for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, you have to bring the parade to you.
And that’s exactly what Gulfshore and Twin Shores did on March 17. The two complexes hosted their 41st annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which included appearances from both St. Patrick and Uncle Sam. From singing and dancing to green beer and gold coins, the parade had all the bases covered.
After the parade, residents enjoyed corned beef sandwiches, green beer and other snacks while playing games and enjoying the sunny weather. Later, winners for best golf cart or float, best costume and best miscellaneous participants were announced.
Kay Heigle, who dressed up as a leprechaun and sat in her very own pot of gold, said the parade is her favorite part of the day.
“I like to see what people come up with as far as decorations as costumes,” she said.
