Christ Church cooks up monthly dinner

The fellowship hall of Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian was full of chatter on Feb. 22 as members gathered for a monthly dinner.

The church holds monthly dinners that feature speakers from some of their local missions. Margi Dawson, director of development for Turning Points, and CEO of Agape Flights, Inc., Allen Speer spoke to the members present.

Turning Points, which is located in Bradenton, has a mission of providing and facilitating service to those who are homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless. Agape Flights, Inc., is a nonprofit Christian aviation ministry that delivers cargo, mail and humanitarian aid to missionary partners serving various Caribbean nations.
