Third- and fourth-grade students in the Wrangler Orffestra performed three songs for the school Wednesday, May 11. The three songs of different cultures — Yoruban, Irish and Zimbabwean— each had a compelling percussion section as well as singing, movement and strings.
David Katz has taught kindergarten through fifth-grade music education at Braden River for 11 years.
“A lot of these students will be trying out for the Florida All-State Orchestra in August, so I try to pick pieces that work on the skills they need,” he said.
