Residents and their four-legged friends did laps around Payne Park Saturday morning for the Southeastern Guide Dogs Walkathon.
Mayor Willie Shaw helped kick off the first lap around the park before the teams and pups took charge. The event helped collect $104,164 to benefit the puppies that graduate to become guide dogs and ambassadors.
Deb and Larry Kabinoff with Gracie represented Team Ava. The group raised money to sponsor a Southeastern Guide Dogs puppy in memory of Deb Kabinoff's late sister Ava.
