The Sarasota Garden Club hosted guests for the Party in Paradise tour Friday evening to kick off the Gardens in Paradise home tour.

Guest had a preview of one of the properties featured on the tour the Twitchell House at 730 Freeling Drive, Siesta Key. The home was designed by Sarasota School of Architecture pioneer Ralph Twitchell in 1966. The Party and Gardens in Paradise tour are the first chance the public has had to view the home that embraces the mid-century modern architecture.

The design incorporates a broad roof that hangs over the home for added shade. The layout and use of windows allows for a seamless transition between the indoors and outdoors.

Full list and description of homes on the tour.
