With floppy hats on their heads, sparkling gowns or suits, and cold drinks in their hands, attendees of the annual American Advertising Awards embraced a night out, March 12, at the Sarasota Polo Club.Â
The competition recognizes and rewards creativity in advertising.
Advertisers of local companies and students from the Ringling College of Art & Design received recognition for their efforts at the awards ceremony, which also featured dinner and cocktails, with polo fields and a sunset as the backdrop for the evening.
Award categories included Best of Show, Judge's Choice, the Silver Medal Award, which recognizes men and women who made contributions to advertising and in their community, and the Donald A. Adamec Member of the Year award, among others.
Event hosts Adfed Suncoast partnered with AtLarge Inc. to provide a $1,000 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising, graphic design or a related field.
