Chamber of commerce honors small businesses with awards.

Local businesses receive accolades for contributions to Sarasota community.

The spotlight was on small businesses for the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce 2016 Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Small Business Awards.

Recognition for small business of the year, young professionals, healthcare wellness organizations, cultural organizations and retail businesses were distributed during the luncheon Friday afternoon at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. 

Chamber Board of Directors Chair elect Charlie Bailey credited small businesses as reflecting the community they serve. Of the more than 1,600 members of the chamber of commerce 88% of businesses have less than 50 employees.
