After impatiently listening to instructions, Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium campers splashed into the water hoping to find a variety of marine wildlife.
It was all part of the “Sea Sleuths: Generation H2O” week- long camp. The camp, which is open to sixth through eighth graders, teaches campers about the history of the ocean. The campers explored the Sarasota Bay while snorkeling and skimming the shore with nets looking for marine wildlife such as shrimp, crab, and seahorses. Snorkeling is just one of the many activities the camp offers to its participants. Throughout the week, the sea sleuths enjoyed kayaking, boat excursions and experiments to better understand what past explorers hypothesized about the oceans.
There is one more session this summer that runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 5. For more information call 388-444.
