UPDATE: Sheriff's Office arrests murder suspect in Sarasota

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has arrested Jamal Christopher Calloway, 20, in connection with the shooting death of Joseph Allen, 22, whose body was found Tuesday along Old Tampa Road in Parrish.

A Sheriff's Office report stated Calloway was arrested Wednesday morning in Sarasota. Detectives believe Allen was shot and killed in early in the morning Tuesday at a residence in the 2600 block of 15th Avenue East, Palmetto.

On July 15, a possible homicide victim was found near a dumpster at Our Lady of the Angels church in Lakewood Ranch. The victim was identified as Ted Lee, 38, of East Fort Myers. Manatee County Sheriff's detectives continue to work that case with the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
