Okaloosa, St. Johns and Sarasota counties all received an A on Florida Department of Education’s annual school accountability report.
Results are based on a combination of up to 11 critiera ranging from overall achievement in English, math, science and social studies to graduation rates. Top marks were awarded to schools that received 62% of the available points.
Forty Sarasota county schools were assessed, all of which were given a C or above— 44% received an A, 32% received a B and 24% received a C.
Most schools maintained their scores from the school year prior. However, 12 schools received grades lower than those received in 2015 and Imagine School at Palmer Ranch, a charter school, was the only school to increase its score.
