Sprouts students cycle for St. Jude's

Liliana Macri and "BB" Brenlyn Madison could not be stopped.

Their preschool-sized legs kept pedaling, speeding around the racetrack (which serves as a turn lane island the rest of the year) with three wheels wizzing, determined to keep going despite the distractions of snacks or the occasional minor crash from a classmate.

The two hot-rods were raising money along with their classmates for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital during the annual trike-a-thon at Sprouts Childcare Center at Harvest United Methodist Church. Preschool students brought their tricycles, bicycles, scooters— anything with wheels—for the fundraiser Monday, Feb. 8. Callie MacLeod, Sprouts director, said the preschool was ranked on the top 100 giving schools in the nation for the St. Jude's fundraiser, having raised more than $40,000 in the last 10 years of participating.
