Turtle Watch makes big donation

The Longboat Key Turtle Watch on Dec. 12 donated $8,405 to Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. The money will be shared among Mote’s various programs.

“This year was an incredible, record-breaking year for local sea turtle nests,” Kristen Mazzarella, Mote senior biologist, said in a statement. “We are immensely grateful for Longboat Key Turtle Watch’s support, which will help us gear up for another successful season, especially following such an eventful year.”
