Municipal Auditorium was hardly recognizable Dec. 17 with elegant white drapes and sparkling chandeliers hanging from the ceiling for the 2016 Debutante Ball. The event is the culmination of many that honor the 19 women of The Debutante Program of Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Escorted by their father and two male friends, each young woman was formally presented as some of the most outstanding high school seniors in their counties.
Proceeds from the event benefited the Sarasota Youth Orchestra.
