Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center’s annual holiday luncheon has come a long way in its over twenty years, but its mission has remained the same.

The event began with about 30 women meeting in someone’s home. This year, the event was held at Michael’s On East for the second year in a row and nearly 200 women attended.

Those who support the organization’s mission, to provide a safe place for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, gathered Monday afternoon for a silent auction, gift collection and a holiday performance from steel drummer John Patti.

As Auxiliary Board President Linda Bergen thanked everyone in attendance for their continued support she said she couldn’t wait for next year’s event.

“Same time, same place,” she said.
