Operation Kindness celebrates America’s heroes

Operation Kindness Florida, Inc. held its ninth annual fundraiser April 7, at Longboat Key Club.

The event included a round-robin tennis tournament and nine-hole golf tournament during the day followed by a barbecue with a raffle and live and silent auctions in the evening. More than 160 people participated.

Last year’s event raised more than $80,000 for veterans who have sustained emotional and physical injuries during service, and proceeds will go toward programs such as sponsoring service dogs for veterans.
