Garden Club learns about the Village

Members of the Longboat Key Garden Club welcomed former Longbeach Village Association President Michael Drake at its monthly meeting Nov. 17, at Windward Bay.

Drake, who moved to the Village in 1985, spoke about issues currently facing the Village, including neighborhood’s peacocks and restaurants.

“Peacocks have been one of the most talked about things on Longboat Key,” Drake said. “I don’t have a huge problem with them, but for my neighbors who do, hats off to them. In my opinion, we will never see the north end without peafowl.”
