The Longboat Key Garden Club celebrated the holidays Dec. 9, at Amore by Andrea.

New York State of Mind

This year’s Taste of the Keys and Fashion Show on Jan. 27 will feature a raffle, and the grand prize will be a three-night trip for two to New York Fashion Week in September.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind opportunity,” Garden Club President Susan Phillips said. “We’re very excited to offer this.”

The raffle prize was made possible by a $12,000 donation from Team Renick, who became the club’s first Orchid Sponsor.

“We want to give back to the community,” Michael Renick said. “Businesses take from the community all the time, and we think it’s more important to give back.”

The raffle tickets will be $100.

Members and guests munched on passed hors d’oeuvres, listened to piano music and socialized before many return to their respective homes for the holidays.
