O' Christmas Tree: FirstSarasota singing tree comes to life

The 42nd annual Singing Christmas Tree kicks off performances Sunday, Dec. 6.

For the 42nd year FirstSarasota Baptist Church put on a show with the Singing Christmas Tree.

When:  7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9; 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11; 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12; 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.
Where: FirstSarasota
Tickets: $15 for adults; $10 for children.

With 80 choir members nestled in its branches the group filled the church with music ranging from "O Come, All Ye Faithful" to "Hallelujah" and "Peace On Earth."

At any given moment the more than 12,000 lights on the tree changed pattern coordinating with the music. 

"Let's just pray that they all go on," said Rev. Bill Hild in reference to the lights.
