Starts at 7 p .m. on Main Street between US 301 and Gulfstream Avenue. The 20th Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade takes place in downtown Sarasota with decorated floats, live marching bands and the guest of honor, Santa Claus. Visit facebook.com/SarasotaHolidayParade.

Sarasota Craft Show
Runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fri- day and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, at Robarts Arena, 3000 Ringling Blvd. Browse piec- es from more than 100 crafters and fine artists featuring works of ceramics, painting, basketry, glass, jewelry, leather, metal and wood. Saturday, Dec. 5
Jingle & Jog 5K Run
Starts at 7 a.m. at Community Haven for Adults & Children With Disabilities, 4405 DeSoto Road. The race starts at 8 a.m. More than 450 runners with jingle bells on their shoes will run in the 18th annual Jingle & Jog 5K run or one-mile walk in support of Community Haven. Participants will receive a race packet, long- sleeved race shirt, healthy food and door prizes. Cost is $25 to $30. Call 355-8808, Ext. 258 

Sunday, Dec. 6
Gulf Coast Sarasota Antiques Show
Runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Columbus Hall, 4880 Fruitville Road. The show focuses on 18th and 19th century Americana, fur- niture and accessories. Watch for more first Sunday of the month shows through March 2016. Admission is $5. Call 228-7758. 

A taste of Chanukah
Runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at Sarasota Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd. There will be kosher food and goods, entertainment and activities for the whole family. Admission and parking are free. Visit tasteofchanukah.com. 

 

Wednesday, Dec. 9 
Ace Art Sale 
Runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Suncoast Technical College, 4748 S. Beneva Road. The sale will feature original art and fine crafts. Admission is free. Visit suncoast.edu.

Thursday, Dec. 3 
Holiday Splendor at the Ringling
Runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Museum of Art, Circus Museum and Ca’d’Zan, 5401 Bay Shore Road. The evening will support the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots pro- gram in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The event will feature holiday music and performances by local elementary, middle and high school students. Admission is free with one unwrapped toy per guest, or $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 17. Wine, Dine & Pine
Runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 811 S. 
Palm Ave. The sixth annual event will feature wine, hors d’oeuvres and desserts while guests par- ticipate in a silent auction with luxury items and a mystery gift box tree. Tickets are $60. Visit selby.org. 

Friday, Dec. 4
Holiday Night of Lights
Starts at 5:30 p.m. on St. Armands Circle. The evening will start with a performance by the Cuban Ballet School and Sarasota High School Theater Department from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by the annual Christmas carol sing-a-long at 6 p.m.

Holiday Lights Spectacular
Runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sara- sota Jungle Gardens, 3701 Bay Shore Road. See the twinkle of thousands of lights decorating the pathways and surroundings of Sarasota Jungle Gardens. Stroll down Candy Cane Lane, visit with Santa and enjoy live entertainment in the bird pavilion twice each evening. Other dates are Dec. 11 and Dec. 12, Dec. 18 to Dec. 24; Dec. 26; and Dec. 27. 'A Child's Christmas in Wales' Screening
Starts at 12:30 p.m. in Meeting Room B of the Gulf Gate Library, 7112 Curtiss Ave. The library will screen the BBC version of the film. Admission is free. The event is a holiday gift to the community from the Gulf Coast Welsh Soci- ety. Visit sarasotawelsh.com.

Singing Christmas Tree 
Performance times vary at First Sarasota The Downtown Baptist Church, 1661 Main St. The Sing- ing Christmas Tree, with 12 levels that hold 115 choir members, is an annual music and drama production. Holly Days and Mangrove Lights
Runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Fridays at Historic Spanish Point, 337 N. Tamiami Trail, Osprey. Historic Spanish Point will feature decorated homestead buildings and lighted gardens. Dickens At The Crosley
Performance times vary at The Powell Crosley Estate, 8374 N. Tamiami Trail. See performances of "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, "The Gentle Giant" by Oscar Wilde and "The Night Before Christmas" by Clement Moore as you move from room to room in the Crosley estate. America's Mental Health Crisis
Starts at 1:30 p.m. at the Sarasota Opera House, 61 Pineapple Ave. Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather will discuss the impact of mental health issues on hospitals, prisons and the lack of treatments.
