Whether interested in a culinary career or an office job, Violeta Huesman wants to help unemployed community members, especially current and former Keiser University students, find employment.

Huesman, director of student services at Keiser, organizes the Career Fair to link interested individuals with employers.

"Go in every room and speak to every employer," Huesman told each individual who passed her at the event.

By the numbers

100 —businesses opeated booths at the fair

21 — rooms housed employers' booths

6 — hour event

5 — years the event has been held

A range of businesses operated booths throughout the day at the East County school, and provided materials for individuals to bring home.

Huesman believes the event is helping introduce students to the post-graduation world, while skipping the unemployment stage after students receive a diploma.

"This type of an event is great for helping students touch base with employers, and what better place to do that then at their school?" Huesman said.
